By Train:
Main: The National Stadium has the capacity to hold 50,000 visitors. The main Stadium MRT tends to get very crowded and you should arrive at least 2hours prior to the start of your event as there are further security checks before entering.
Alternative: The immediate alternative is Kallang MRT, 600m or 15mins walk to Gate 14 (North). It is a fully paved and usually breezy walk from Kallang MRT to the National Stadium. If you are up for some sightseeing, this is the route to take.
By Bus:
From Orchard Area/ City Hall Area, take bus 14 or 16 for 20mins and you’ll arrive close to Gate 14.
From Farrer Park Area, take bus 141 or 67 for 10mins and you’ll arrive at Kallang MRT.
By Taxi/ Private Hire: Make sure you arrive at least 2hours before your event.

1. Old Airport Road Food Centre – this hawker centre is constantly rated as the top 3 in Singapore and frequented by locals. It can get hot and crowded, so get your tissues and empty stomach ready.
2. Kallang Wave Mall – this mall is connected to the Sports Hub itself, grab a quick bite (sandwiches/ fast food/ local eateries) from this conveniently located mall.
3. Leisure Park Kallang – this mall is within the Sports Hub itself, 5 to 10mins walk to your gate. For quick and light bites.
4. No Signboard Seafood At Geylang – this is a slight luxury with its seafood offering and is 30mins walk to the sports hub. No Signboard Seafood is a common seafood haunt for locals, they have several stores around the island and the standard is always high.
5. Golden Mile Food Centre – this is a quiet and quite a heritage & secret hawker centre in the middle of the city. Food is very diverse and affordable. Stalls are only open till 7pm. Hop on to the Circle (orange) line straight to Stadium after your meal.
6. Suntec City – This is a mega mall that is served by the Circle (orange) line. Restaurants close at 10pm and bars are open till late.
7. Raffles City – Another mega mall right in the middle of the city. Head to Esplanade MRT which is along the Circle (orange) line for the quickest way to Sports Hub.
8. Marina Bay Sands Singapore – The hotel itself has a mega foodcourt at basement 2. Hop on Bay Front MRT, also along the Circle (orange) line to the Sports Hub.
9. Lau Pa Sat – One of the oldest hawkers in Singapore and home to the famed satay street. We recommend that you hit up this area after your event and feast!
10. Marina Square – A less touristy mega mall that is along the Circle (orange) line where Esplanade MRT is the closest. Have your pick of restaurants, food courts, fast food, bars, hot pot after your event.
a. DSLR & Film cameras and tripods are a strict no entry to event areas. You can still use your cameras in the vicinity, just not in the stadiums themselves.
b. Dress comfortably, t-shirt, shorts and trainers are your best bet.
c. Stay hydrated, water bottles are allowed. Otherwise, there are a ton of shops in the area and in the National Stadium that you can get bottled water.
d. If you have brought large bags or items, you can store them around the paid lockers in the area. It’s a sports hub after all, there are plenty of lockers all around the stadium and in Kallang Wave Mall – these do get snapped up pretty fast during event days.
e. Arrive early, 2 hours is comfortable if you don’t want to miss the opening act or kick-off. Security checks are tight and can take between 30mins to 60mins.
Singapore is a very small city and you’ll be able to reach the Sports Hub in less than 30mins from almost everywhere. Put in an additional buffer of 30mins to cater for mini-jams during event day.For the budget conscious, why spend extra when the point is to get out and explore!
